The "C" word

Well, my family got the news that mom has stage 4 cancer. The doctors give her 6months to 1year to live. My first thought, was that I needed to take some time and go up for a visit. JW and I took a trip to Washington, and spent some quality time with my parents. My mom is trying so hard to be tough, but I know she has got to be in alot of pain. I wish I could take some for her.

While We were visiting, JW got sick, so unfortunately I was unable to get any pictures of him with his Beppe. I didn't want to chance him giving mom his cold. I did get mom and dad outside on Sunday and snapped a couple shots of them in their sunday best.

I am having a hard time with the new setup here on blogspot, but let me see if I've got it right!!

Recently, I got a call from my dad, and when I saw my parents # on caller ID, I got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I had just talked to my mom a few days before on JW's birthday, so I knew they were not calling just to talk. My parents don't call for no reason.

The first thing my dad said, is have something bad to tell you. Mom had gone to the doctor for a chest xray, because she has been coughing for over 6 weeks, and they found a spot on her lung. They scheduled her for a biopsy the next week.

At the biopsy, the doctors confirmed that it is indeed cancer. She has an appointment today to see an oncologist. I am praying for my parents today. I hope, that even though we don't say it much in my family, that they know how much I love them!!
